1627 On the Strip

1627 On the Strip is a luxury apartment building in Pittsburgh that boasts studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom lofts. The building allows two pets per loft and there are many residents with dogs, but there wasn’t a good place for residents to take them to run around and go to the bathroom. After hearing about K9Grass^® from another property manager, the client approached ForeverLawn Penn-Ohio about helping them create a pet relief area on the rooftop of the apartment building using 200 square feet of K9Grass artificial turf. The turf was installed over top of our AirGrid 3 proprietary plastic grid that allowed the ForeverLawn Penn-Ohio team to achieve a permeable base that would promote free flow of liquids and air. As always, this was a successful installation in spite of some unique challenges that a rooftop installation presented, such as figuring out a way to anchor the K9Grass system to the roof without puncturing the waterproofing membrane.
