8. The Playground in Santa Fe

Do you work well under pressure?

Something the Karmie brothers have learned over the years is how to work under pressure.

In today’s episode, Dale and Brian share about the first playground they sold. It was a large project for them at the time at about 5,000 square feet, and they knew this would stretch their abilities and test their innovation. When the shipment of material arrived, the brothers were eager to get started—until they realized that the company had not shipped the porous plastic material they had ordered, but they instead sent one that was nonporous.

The brothers were left with a challenge that needed to be solved: How were they going to add the holes they needed to ensure proper drainage?

Tune in for a story of laughter, hard work, and innovation as Brian and Dale oversell and over-deliver on this one-of-a-kind project.

If you only ever agree to things you’ve done before, you will never try anything new. When roadblocks stand in your way, do you give up? Or do you find a way to work around them?

Listen in to find out how Brian and Dale creatively used trial and error to turn the wrong material into one that would work.
